HOW TO INTERPRET IT

Read the data before you read the conclusion.

01

Why pad distance is only context

The launch pad is a known reference point, not the location of every later stage event. A vehicle can travel thousands of kilometers downrange before a visible vent, fuel dump or stage event occurs. Pad distance helps rank broad plausibility but should never be presented as a trajectory match.

02

Twilight is unusually important

The most spectacular plumes often occur when observers are in twilight or darkness while the vehicle and exhaust remain sunlit at altitude. Local solar altitude therefore adds a physically meaningful second layer to launch timing.

03

What would make attribution stronger

A stronger case combines launch time, known trajectory, direction of the sighting, image geometry, plume evolution and independent reports from a corridor consistent with the flight path. The page gives you the first layers and makes the missing layers explicit.
