The score is a fit score, not a probability.
Incomplete feeds never become false certainty.
Observation baseline
Duration, motion, blinking, number of lights, color and fragmentation move candidate scores.
Time gates sources
ADSB.lol current aircraft positions are only used for sightings within ten minutes of now. Current NOAA Kp is only used within six hours. NASA/JPL fireball and launch queries use the submitted time window. CelesTrak is catalog freshness context, not an exact pass match.
Derived calculations
The server calculates solar altitude, Haversine distance, compass bearing, time offsets and major meteor-shower windows.
Missing evidence stays visible
Timeouts, provider errors, inapplicable live-only data and empty responses remain explicit.
